I'll be the first one to admit that I was tentative about where Scott Snyder was going to be taking me in this story arc. Jim Gordon as Batman, Bruce Wayne the poor, philanthropist, handyman at a center for children suffering after the Joker's last trick, and even Batmantium, all of these separate threads in a story line that just seemed so off putting. And yet here I am having finished number 50, and appreciating the genius of this man even more. Scott Snyder has taken the idea of Gotham city and give. It a life of its own. A story that he has obviously always felt inside of him. Batman is the same dark warrior we remember from the past, but somehow he shows a greater depth and sense of purpose in this run. Very few people have been lucky enough to pen the words of Bruce Wayne and the inner thoughts of Batman, but of the handful that have, Scott Snyder is easily in the top 3. And all of this is of course accompanied by some of r greatest comic book art work you will ever see, drawn by e masterful mind of Greg Capullo. While Scott can read the mind of the Batman, Greg can turn all of those thoughts into the visual concepts we can't help but gorge ourselves on. Special shout out to the artwork done by Chris Daughtry for the secondary cover. It is a beautiful piece too look at and appreciate. Someone give this man your cover ideas and let's see the skills flourish. Five stars guys. Great work.
