Description

“National Bestseller—New York Times, USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, Wall Street Journal”

The funny and talented Chip Gaines is well known to millions of people as a TV star, renovation expert, bestselling author, husband to Joanna, and father of five in Waco, Texas. But long before the world took notice, Chip was a serial entrepreneur who was always ready for the next challenge, even if it didn’t quite work out as planned. Whether it was buying a neighborhood laundromat or talking a bank into a loan for some equipment to start a lawn-mowing service, Chip always knew that the most important thing was to take that first step.

Now a #1 New York Times bestselling book, Capital Gaines offers readers a ringside seat as Chip relives some of his craziest antics and the lessons learned along the way. His mentors taught him to never give up and his family showed him what it meant to always have a positive attitude despite your circumstances. Throw in a natural daredevil personality and a willingness to do (or eat!) just about anything, and you have the life and daily activity of Chip Gaines.

Capital Gaines is the perfect book for anyone looking to succeed not only in business but more importantly in life.

Captivating and inspiring way to view the world around us. I loved Chips views on life, people, relationships and hard work.

The title is very misleading and is centered on Chip’s “bar talk” experiences. I honestly think this is a book for entertainment purposes and NOT one that will add value to someone looking for entrepreneurial, business or real estate advice.

Inspiring story, and a little shocking at how Chip and Jo became sensations. He's certainly a workaholic, but also a fierce family man who wants to take life by the horns and help those around him do the same. Definitely a good read for those who need some perspective on what it's all about...

I guess I was expecting an autobiography, or a “how we turned Magnolia into a successful company” treatise. While it’s clear that Chip is driven by a passion to succeed, I found the book a bit too self-centered and self-serving. So not a good read, at least for me.

I loved this book because of Chip’s rawness and humor. Such a great book to read if you’re feeling down. I finished it in one day!

Good book, easy to read. It was just not what I was expecting. The title and subtitle gives me the idea it would be more business specific advice for the industry they are in. Being in the exact same industry I was looking forward to the book. It is not that at all. It’s more of Chips personal story, experiences and life advice.

My twin sister and I are aspiring home renovators and social entrepreneurs. We have a few properties and Chip's words of wisdom and advice throughout the book are beyond helpful during a time when fear and doubt seem to be at every corner. I'm grateful for this read and happy I was able to get just a small peek into the mind of Chip Gaines. TY!
