First we were friends. Then we were roommates. Now I want more…

What can I say about Chess Copper? The woman is capable of bringing me to my knees. I know this about five minutes after getting naked for her.

No one is more surprised than me. The prickly photographer my team hired to shoot our annual charity calendar isn’t my usual type. She’s defense to my offense, a challenge at every turn. But when I’m with her, all the regrets and darkness goes away. She makes life fun.

I want to know Chess, be close to her. Which is a bad idea.

Chess is looking for a relationship. I’ve never given a woman more than one night. But when fate leaves Chess without a home, I step up and offer her mine. We’re roommates now. Friends without benefits. But it’s getting harder to keep our hands off each other. And the longer we live together the more I realize she’s becoming my everything.
Trick is… Now that I’ve made her believe I’m a bad bet, how do I convince her to give this player a true shot at forever?

This book and these characters are like old friends. You love hanging out with them, laugh and cry with them and never want to say goodbye. Trust are gonna love Chester and Manning!
  • Awesome from page one!

This was truly her best book! It was so heart tugging from page one all the way to the end. Loved it!
  • Great surprise!

I was happily surprised to see a 4th book in the game on series. I really liked the characters in the previous books and the same held true with Manny and Chester. I gobbled up this book and their story. Bonus that I was reading it during the NFL draft (I don't think that's a coincidence)! My only issue is that there are a lot of grammatical mistakes that made it harder to read. I feel like no one edited after the author wrote it. You should do better.

Read it in one day it was so amazing and endearing. I laughed throughout and will definitely read it again. I am in love with Finn, he's real. I love that she didn't make him so tough and completely jaded that he couldn't be real and human.

I love Chess and Finn. I read it twice and loved it both times. The story line never got dull. I just wished there was a little more. I would love to know if they ended up having a child of their own.
  • Great Addition to the series

I was hooked on the first one but have enjoyed all of the following books. Really liked Chester and her side of the photo shoot. When is the next one?
  • Funny, Sexy, Emotional 5-Star Perfection!!!

Oh my word....If you are looking for your next book boyfriend, look no further than Finn Mannus because Lordy, Lordy, this man will make you fall head over heels for him immediately! We're talking shoot-to-the-top-of-your-book-boyfriend list! Kristen Callihan gives readers everything they are hoping for in the next installment of her Game On series. I am a new reader to this series and Calllihan does a great job presenting this as a standalone within the series. In fact, I loved the characters and storyline so much, I plan to go back and read the other books in this series because I've certainly been missing out by not reading it! The Hot Shot is Finnegan "Finn" Mannus and Chester "Chess" Copper's story and it is super swoony and sexy so be prepared to fall instantly. Even though they have a rough first meeting, these two quickly become friends but their battle to stay that way doesn't last long. While their story is a slow burn of sorts, the build up is so beautiful that readers will rejoice when these two finally give in to their true feelings. Finn and Chess are magnetic together---their attraction and feelings are heartfelt and beautifully written. Callihan makes her readers fall right alongside these two as the story progresses. Their bedroom scenes are insanely hot and sexy so be prepared to find a way to cool yourself off! Hot Shot is a funny, sexy and emotional story that readers will absolutely adore. It's beautifully written and the story is perfectly executed. It grabbed my attention from the very first page and didn't let go until I finished the very last one. Not only are the primary characters amazing, but the secondary ones are as well. You could sense the bond of brotherhood between all of Finn's football teammates/friends and the mutual love and respect between Chess and her best friend James. Be prepared to shed a few tears at the more emotional aspects of the story because you will most definitely cry! But, with a beautiful HEA, you will be left smiling and fulfilled by this incredible story. Do yourself a favor and grab this incredible story---it's absolutely worth the read!
  • My favorite in the series!

You know when you read something that you instantly fall in love with, can’t put down and just know in your heart that it’s going to be a great book – well, The Hot Shot was that for me and SO MUCH MORE! This book is my definite FAVORITE of the series so far, and a definite Top Fave of 2017! Kristen Callihan has crafted some amazing characters in the Game On series, and while the books can be read as standalones, I liked them together as a whole—getting to know each of the characters as the books progressed and wanting them to find their happily ever afters. I pretty much enjoyed this book from the very moment I opened it—watching Chess Copper (aka Chester Copperpot from the Goonies – ah!) meet Finn Mannus for the very first time for the nude male calendar was pretty amazing LOL Yes, Chess is the complete opposite of what Finn normally looks for in a woman he is attracted to and vice versa for her—but their banter and the comebacks—you can see that the pretty boy quarterback has met his match in this talented photographer. Chess and Finn start off as friends though the underlying sexual chemistry is TO DIE FOR. When tragedy strikes and Chess loses her apartment, Finn is there to save the day and offers her to be his roommate. As Chess and Finn navigate this so-called friendship while being immensely attracted to each other, readers will smile, and laugh, and then cry when you learn more about these characters. This is honestly one of the best friends to more books I have read in a long time. Kristen Callihan certainly packed this book with everything that readers love—the banter, the romance, the sexy times and let’s not even get into the heartbreaking emotional times…Tears were coming out of my eyes! I am a huge fan of Kristen Callihan and I am just IN LOVE with these characters…Finn and Chess are EVERYTHING and more and I can’t say enough other than to JUST READ THE BOOK! It’s addicting and delicious and PERFECT in every way! P.S. This is the MOST PERFECT COVER for this book… you will know when you read the scene <3 Favorite Quotes *le sigh* “I wouldn’t push you, and I meant it. But one day, Chess, you’re going to feel safe enough to let go. And I’m going to be there to catch you when you fall.” “Finn, what am I going to do with you?” His smile is an easy glide, but his eyes hold mine a beat too long. “Keep me. I’m pretty sure I’m good for no one else.” “I was made to kiss you, Chess.”
