For decades, serial entrepreneur James Prince presided over Rap-A-Lot Records, one of the first and most successful independent rap labels. In his memoir, he explains how he earned his reputation as one of the most respected men in Hip Hop. By staying true to his three principles of heart, loyalty, and commitment, and an unwavering faith in God, he has defeated many adversaries. Whether battling the systemic cycle of poverty, record label executives, boxing promoters, or corrupt DEA agents, Prince has always emerged victorious. Respect isn't given, it's earned. In recounting his compelling life story, Prince analyzes the art and science of earning respect - and giving respect - and how to apply these principles to your own life.

This book changed my life. I knew it would. I ordered it a month before it came out because I knew there were lessons that I needed to be taught. I’m always looking to learn and to be better. This book taught be that I can make something from nothing only through the strength of God. This book affirmed what I had been taught all be life, that God is the Author and Finisher of my story. He has to be or there is no story. No matter how intimidating the distance is between where I am and where I want to be, with God anything is possible. This book taught me to expand my goals and dreams and to galvanize them by being selfless. Be focused. I have to remember that I am and different, powerful and a winner at all times. Regardless of what the situation is. Thanks Prince, for teaching me the game, it was necessary.

Your book was like me listening to the early child hood story of my life, especially about taking myself to church on my own accord and being hungry as a child.. (Tears) No child should ever have to be hungry.. Though I accomplished a lot in the street. I did; well let me Quote Mr. J. Prince, I didn’t fall to rock bottom... I reached down and brought the bottom to me. I just wanted my family and friends not to continue to taste the disgusting taste of poverty.. Sorry this is a review... A must read I love it.
