    Misses the point on everything.
  • Meh

I'll have to agree with the negative reviews on this one. I prefer interpreting things on my own, as oppose to hearing someone else's interpretation.
  • Disappointing

The Tao text is contained in this book, but the understanding of it is lacking. The Tao is not just about 'balance'. The commentary sounds like something a freshman in college might write. He totally misses non-duality as central to The Way's theme. He argues with the Tao instead of being its student. I removed from my library to bring me more peace of mind. While the book might be free, it comes with a steep price of cloaking the teachings into a simple formula for life.
  • The Best Tao Te Ching book in ebook store! By FAR!

It was simply translated, author clearly stated his point of view, and it was free. What more can you ask for? Great book.
  • Not Tao

I think anyone who seriously studies Taoism will be very disappointed with this adaptation and interpretation. It is not The Way and should not be confused with real Taoism.
  • Awful!!!

This version of the Tao Te Ching is awful. AWFUL! I can't believe I'm going to delete a free book, but this is so bad that I don't want it contaminating my bookshelf. Was that a bit harsh? DESERVED!

The vast majority of the author's interpretations either completely miss the point of the Tao or are of such a Western perspective that they completely misinform the reader. I would advise that before you interpret something, you understand it first.
