★★★★★ "Fabulous Shifter fun, absolutely awesome from beginning to end."

It's been seven years since Lexi Knight lost her brother in a tragic accident. On the anniversary of his death, her brother's best friend shows up unexpectedly - a man she hasn't seen since the funeral. He is no longer the boy Lexi once knew, but a dangerous-looking man with tattoos and dark secrets. He broke her trust and abandoned her family, yet what he reveals makes it impossible to stay angry. Lexi has been secretly infatuated with Austin since childhood, so finding out he's a Shifter just makes him sexier. Dammit.

Austin Cole has returned to the city where he grew up, and just in time. He's lived a hard life these past seven years, and the shadows of his past are threatening to destroy Lexi's family. It's time that she learned the truth about her brother, but there is a shocking twist that Austin never saw coming. Now he must protect her family when her mother and sister wind up in mortal danger. Will Lexi learn to accept the truth about who he is, and can Austin salvage a relationship from the ruins of their past?

"It made me fall in love with urban fantasy all over again." - Smokin' Hot Book Blog

"She creates characters that you can wrap your hands around and feel and smell and hear.   They're real and messy and gorgeous in their tangibility." - The Lightning Room

"This book is moving, sweet, funny, sexy as hell and stealthily weaves its way into your heart when you aren't looking." - The Lightning Room

The love story that kept shocking me into never setting my book down. Losing sleep seems to be a requirement when reading anything written by Dannika." - Paranormal Raven

"...exciting adventures, sizzling chemistry, and an indescribable love between two people. Dannika has a way of taking the easily forgettable (and unlikable) character and turning him into a hero that we crave more of. And I inhaled him." - In the Binding

"This is a terrific series that I enjoyed so much I would reread it.  I would love to see the Seven Series turn into a TV series or movie." - Diane's Book Blog

  • Great first book in the series

This book for me hooked quickly. The story was fun and fast paced. Characters were well developed for a first book in a series like this. The whole series is great but you have to start with this one.

I'm a chronic free book downloader and have been sooooo disappointed with the last fifteen or so I've started. I know it's a win or lose and I won, several times, with this book. So good and no noticeable errors...which I hate.

This series is so good. It's a slow start but once it's gets going, you can't put them down.

I absolutely loved this book!! Spent a rainy day glued to the book, couldn’t put it down for longer than to grab a quick bite to eat. It was well written, pulled me in right away. I’ve not read anything from Dannika Dark before but I am now a new fan! Getting ready to read the next book in the series!

I couldn't go get past chapter 12...very immature and shallow characters ....reads like it was written by a teenager...I'm very disappointed because I loved the Mageri Series...hard to believe they were written by the same person. She needs to read some shapeshifter books written by other people. Shifters who are dumb animals when they shift are not the least bit interesting to read about. And her version of shifters as humans are blah too... Sue Bainter
