He’s different from any man she’s ever known.
However, she’s sworn never to risk her heart again.

Brooke Baker, sold as a mail-order bride, looks to her future with dread but firm resolve. If she survived Uncle Jackson, she can survive anyone.

When Sky Jordan hears that his nefarious cousin has sent for a mail-order bride, he knows he has to prevent the marriage. No woman deserves to be left to that fate. Still, he’s as surprised as anyone to find himself standing next to her before the minister.

Brooke’s new husband turns out to be kinder than any man has ever been. But then the unthinkable happens and she holds the key that might save innocent lives but destroy Sky all in one fell swoop. It’s a choice too unbearable to contemplate…but a choice that must be made.

A thirsty soul. Alluring hope. An Oasis of love.
Step into a day when outlaws ran free, the land was wild, and guns blazed at the drop of a hat.

This Christian historical romance is clean and sweet with an uplifting spiritual message and a touch of suspense.

  • Good Read

In my opinion, this book is perfect for those wishing to read a faith-filled romance that includes reference to historical information. While there were some tangents to incorporate new characters that took some chapters before the characters appeared again, which could be distracting to other readers, I still found the book a good read.

A great plot with history intertwined. You won't want to put this book down and the faith of the characters is encouraging to each of us to put our faith in Him no matter how difficult are struggles are.

This is such a great book I enjoyed it so much. It touched my heart and renewed my faith. The Male Character Sky had such a wonderful walk with the Lord, that he was able to show Brook a broken Woman who was so badly used and hurt by the men in her life, that the Lord still loved her and so did he. I couldn't stop reading it. It was so touching. I will read the rest of the series. Miriam Madrid

Too many tangents. The author just has too many stories to tell in one book. Also, she had to save too many people for one story. The author has trouble with pacing so when the tension starts to build towards a climax, she goes a different direction into the characters thoughts so you just want the story to get on with it. Jason’s redemption should really have been a separate book and then this one would have been much easier to read.
  • Pretty epic!

I loved this story! Could hardly put it down, finished in two days and want more! My only thing is that there was so much religion. I love good clean romance novels but too much religion is kinda eh. But to each his own! Awesome book and I will definitely read more by this author!
  • Best book ever

I love this Christian romance about men who pray faithfully and live according to God. The murder mystery is based on an actual historical murder and adds more depth to the story. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.
  • Awful

This is an awful book. It's the first time I've ever stopped reading a book. Instead of crafting a beautiful story this 'author ' has deemed it necessary to use this book as a moral soap box. This is wrong. The occasional reference would have gotten the point across without killing the story. I believe. However I do not enjoy being bombarded by someone's views so much that I can't turn the page. Killed the story. Needs a massive rewrite.
  • Sweet story with memorable characters

I read all 4 books in this series and truly enjoyed them. The plots were suspenseful enough to keep me turning the pages and I thought the love stories were sweet. Highly recommend!
  • This is NOT historical romance!

    By Akurani
There is nothing even remotely romantic about this book. It's basically a deeply Christian, moralistic story with some warm feelings mixed in. I have nothing against a religious message, but don't advertise it as something it's not. The writing itself was ridiculous too..people living in sin and tests being done to check blood composition, these things didn't happen during this time period! Choppy, clunky writing, a religious message every other page, and nonsensical subject matter make this a total waste of time.
